There’s something about an old abandoned house that really creeps people out.
Be sure to scroll all the way down to see one that people were murdered in.
Is there someone in the window?
Would you stay here for the night if your car broke down and your cell phone was dead?
How about here?
Maybe this one? You know, if it was raining and your Jeep didn’t have a top?
I can almost hear animals and their night time sounds…
squeaky doors and creaking wooden porches.
As promised, the scene of a murder.
On June 10 1912, one of the most violent crimes in America took place in this house. It’s located in Vallisca in southwest Iowa. 8 people were bludgeoned to death with an axe as they slept. 6 of them were children. The crime remains unsolved. It’s been restored but there’s still an axe mark on one of the walls. There’s no electricity. It’s on the historic register, offers tours day and night, and is available for overnight rental if you need a place to stay while traveling.
