This Heroic Cancer Survivor Has A Simple Question For You.

Amplifying Glass has found a worthy cause to support this month! We are delighted to introduce you to Jaymie Martinez, a heroic young lady that has survived her fight with cancer. Jaymie is active in The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada (LLSC), an organization founded to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families, and she is currently fundraising for the Light The Night Walk. We are asking for your help!

Here is Jaymie’s amazing story:

“9 years ago, my doctor gave me nine months to live. My name is Jaymie Martinez. I am a cancer survivor. When I was 23 years old, I was diagnosed with acute myelogenous leukemia. I went through 5 rounds of high dose chemotherapy and 3 days straight of full body radiation. Each round came with its own set of horrible side effects. I was blind for 3 days. My body was covered in blue and purple rashes. I couldn’t walk, talk, eat or write. My body was so weak, I lost over 30 pounds. I lost all of my hair. I had pneumonia and suffered through depression. But when all else failed my doctors held on to hope. On January 10 2006, I received an experimental stem cell transplant that eventually saved my life. It is thanks to donations like yours that I am still alive today.”
